Our expertise is in filmmaking and we know that in some cases it will be best for us to stay out of the way and let the experts do their work while we simply roll the cameras and share their stories. However, we want to roll up our sleeves and get to work whenever it's possible! Along with humanitarian aid we will help with any and all aspects of environmental restoration including wildlife rehabilitation and re-wilding efforts, planting trees, collecting seeds, preparing and cultivating land, cleaning beaches and harbours, teaching children, working, learning and sharing with local indigenous communities, restoring watersheds and ecosystems, transporting supplies, setting up camps and working with local conservation efforts. There are an almost infinite number of ways for us to help.
Restoration Planet is an ambitious project with episodes filmed in British Columbia, Newfoundland, France, Spain, Albania, Montenegro, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Vietnam. We have a proven track record of producing feature length, story-driven documentary films and that expertise will help build this important series.
From Indigenous-led conservation efforts to global organizations we seek out those who encourage us to rethink how we live, how we eat, what we buy and how we move. From across the globe there are incredible people making a difference. We all need to see this, share it and let it inspire us as individuals, communities and organizations.
Restoration Planet will, through the use of our feature and short films, mini docs, video clips, photographs and blogs help to change or influence public opinions and attitudes. Ultimately this can lead to behavioural or policy change with respect to climate change and ecological restoration. Through our work we will increase and unite the number of voices working to stop climate change and restore the planet.
Deep in the Great Bear Rainforest, against the backdrop of British Columbia’s breathtaking wilderness, a former hunter comes to terms with his past and looks with hope towards the future. Way of the Hunter tells the compelling story of Robert Moberg, a hunter who’s traded his gun for a camera.
Written and directed by Robert Moberg, produced by Selwyn Jacob and executive produced by Shirley Vercruysse for the NFB’s BC and Yukon Studio.
